New York Begins Confiscation of Firearms

Gun control advocates are fond of telling the folks on the pro-gun side that the government isn't after their guns. You're paranoid, they say. All the government wants is common sense reform that will help curb gun violence.

Well, for a group of New York gun owners, gun confiscation just became a reality. Here's a link to the original article from that revealed the confiscation to the public:

Click through and read the letter.

The letter calls for the owner of the guns listed to "immediately surrender your Rifle and/or Shotgun to your local police precinct, and notify this office of the invoice number. The firearm may be sold or permanently removed from the City of New York thereafter."

The reason for the confiscation is listed as:

"Rifles and Shotguns capable of holding more than five (5) rounds of ammunition are unlawful to possess in New York City."

This is the first gun confiscation attempt since the new gun control laws went into effect and you'd better believe gun control advocates across the nation are watching to see how this plays out. If it goes smoothly, you'll likely see a new wave of laws and confiscations hit the nation.

The gun control freaks in the government want your guns and will come after them in any way they think they can get away with. This isn't common sense gun control. This is strong-armed confiscation of legal weapons and if there isn't an uproar about this confiscation, it may be coming soon to a neighborhood near you.
